Who am I

BIOGRAPHY OF EDITH JUNGSLAGER

Art has always played a prominent role in my life. Since early childhood, visits to musea and exhibitions were of a repetitive nature.

It was a logical result that I took up the brushes myself. In the early years Rembrandt was my guide in working with light and shadow.

Later on the Zero Movement was of great influence on my approach to art.

I studied the importance of the matter itself or that which surrounded that matter.

What I can leave out in my work was a constant challenge.

Even more so when I decided to become a photographer, I soon found out that making Art from scratch is totally opposite to making a Photograph.

Leaving out all that is redundant became a new challenge.

My knowledge about light, composition and Zero Art allowed me to be a good student at a UK Art University : I successfully received a BA (Hons.) in Photography.

As a professional fulltime photographer I am now constantly looking for a balance between the subject and it's negative space, resulting in Black and White Minimal Art photography.

A selection of such photographs is presented in the Gallery of this website.

To ensure optimum quality and authenticity, photographs bought in my Web Shop will be produced by a certified partner using the Hahnemuhle certificate of Authenticity
